Response to EU call for evidence and public questionnaire

I responded to a European Commission “call for evidence” to inform the next iteration of the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD3). The consultation has been engineered to exclude support for tobacco harm reduction and marginalise the interests of the EU’s 100 million nicotine users.

The call for evidence is here: Tobacco products and tobacco advertising – revision of EU rules

My response is here: Evidence for policymakers (PDF)

I also contributed to the EHRA response: full response (PDF)

The Commission also published a public questionnaire which was rigged to be impossible to answer for anyone backing tobacco harm reduction as a public health strategy. I contributed to ETHRA’s critique of the public questionnaire: Impossible by design [full PDF]
